David undertakes most of our work. It was helping with the kitchen extension at home as a teenager where he first gained DIY experience. Meanwhile, David’s knowledge and practical skill set was enhanced by a traditional education which included woodwork, motor mechanics, art and design.
Qualifying as a teacher seemed to indicate another path but along the way there were a number of summer jobs which included general gardening and landscaping. Then there was classic car and caravan ownership, and subsequent award winning restorations. David was now developing fine painting skills and huge attention to detail. Indeed following one restoration he was invited to work with a sign writer who undertook all manner of decorative commercial projects. This allowed David to learn and develop many more skills before he branched out subsequently became a woodworking workshop manager.
Opportunities are there to be taken and discussions with friends and family resulted in the creation of Wycombe Home Improvements – if a job’s worth doing, then it’s worth doing well.
